Quinton had previously been convicted of three felonies. He was held on charges related to the stabbing of 34-year-old Mein Hsiao, who was a University of Louisiana-Monroe exchange student in August 2015. At the time, Quinton had not been charged with murder for the death of Hsiao. He was being held for unlawfully using her credit card and for possession of illegal drugs. But he still remained a suspect in Hsiao’s murder.
