While many associate Miley Cyrus’ fun and carefree personality with sunny California, it wasn’t until her hiring by Disney in 2005 for the series, Hannah Montana, that the actress and her family moved to Los Angeles. Before that, between the years 2001 and 2005, Miley and her family lived in Toronto, Canada where her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, was shooting for the TV series Doc.
It was in Toronto that the young Miley fell in love with acting, after seeing a 2001 production of Mamma Mia! At the Royal Alexandra Theatre with her father who recalls Miley grabbing his arm and telling him, “This is what I want to do, daddy. I want to be an actress.”
