Alone in the harsh cold weather
The police took with them search dogs to comb the neighborhood for the twins. They even tried the daycare center a few blocks away after Marlene and Thomas told them that the girls might have tried to go there. They also tried peeking into places along the way where they thought the twins might have sheltered themselves from the harsh, cold weather.
A telling clue
After 46 minutes after the police responded to the Woraceks’ call, a significant development turned up. Officer Kister saw a small footprint on the 5-inch snow near an alley not far from the Woraceks’ house. He looked closely and determined that the print was from a small kid’s boot.
