It’s not just the pilots that are extremely tired, but the flight crew is just as exhausted. In fact, it’s said that most crew usually work 6 days a week, with schedules that range from both short to long flights. And if that wasn’t sad enough, apparently it’s also been reported that crew members only get paid once the cabin doors of the flight are closed for take off. Any time spent on the airplane before take off means that they aren’t getting a stipend. So if you’re antsy to get your flight underway, they might be even more excited to get up in the air than you are.

This particular topic is still up for discussion. Where some pilots claim that there is truly a possibility that electronic devices cause interference with the flight, others say that they don’t even bother to turn off their phones. So how come some flight crew leave their devices turned on, but all the passengers need to turn off theirs? The difference is, what’s one or two phones left on compared to hundreds? Basically, most airlines just don’t want to take a chance and would prefer to err on the side of caution with this one.
