Ivanka wanted to find a way for people to learn more about Goldenhar Syndrome, as well as bring others suffering from the same disease more attention. Her reasoning was not so that they could be humiliated, but actually for the exact opposite reason. She wanted to find a way to empower them and help spread the word about this difficult and painful condition. This is when she finally began a campaign called ‘Rainbow for Ivanka.’

The ‘Rainbow for Ivanka’ campaign was basically her taking photos of herself, as well as encouraging others to take photos of themselves while hiding half their faces. She explained, “We do the selfie because the biggest dream of each rainbow children one time to uncover your hand on one half of face.” She continued by saying, “I refuse to accept this condition should still be a “taboo” in Slovakia, and that these children are viewed as unacceptable for this society.”
