These hauntingly beautiful beech trees in Northern Ireland have been in place since the 18th century. Planted by the Stuart family, the ‘Dark Hedges,’ as they are known, have been photographed and shown all over the world for their almost creepy yet unforgettable stature. Even the immensely popular show, “Game Of Thrones” has used this road for one of their episodes.

Parque Francisco Alvarado, Costa Rica

These manmade structural landscape designs are found in the Parque Francisco Alvarado in Costa Rica, which was built in the 1960s by artist Evangelisto Blanco. The park itself sits higher than much of the surrounding areas, but this allows visitors to take a look at the many coffee plantations below. And although these tunnels are impressive, there’s added beauty with the other shrubbery that’s been shaped into fun shapes like dinosaurs and oddly shaped humans.
