A hodgepodge of stuff

It wasn’t just the amount of garbage uncovered that was mind-boggling. The variety of things found was staggering. Beneath the peaceful iconic canal was a mix of a whole lot of stuff, including watches, televisions, bicycles, and even furniture.

As far as the eye can see

The people of Paris blame the “Bobos,” the Parisian hipsters, for the accumulation of garbage that lined the canal “as far as the eye can see.” These “Bobos” made the canal a convenient garbage disposal for themselves.
