Astoria – owned by David Gilmour
The Astoria isn’t as big as the previously mentioned yachts. It’s only 27 meters, yet its famous for being owned by one of the most recognizable luminaries from the golden age of rock music – David Gilmour. The Astoria was built with music in mind in 1911. It was designed so that a 90-piece orchestra could play on its deck.
Gilmore bought the boat in 1986 and had it converted into a floating recording studio. It’s fitted with a kitchen, a bathroom, a large main saloon, and three cabins. Some parts of Pink Floyd’s tracks were recorded onboard the Astoria.
