29. The White House, Washington D.C.
It may come as a surprise, but the White House, the seat of the country’s power, is also haunted. Erected in 1800, the White House was burned to the ground in 1812. It went through several modifications over the years. Ghostly apparitions of past presidents and employees have been reported by witnesses to have appeared there. The most often seen was the ghost of Abraham Lincoln in his room and walking along the halls.
