Of course tourists don’t think about it much when they say that they’d “love to just sleep on the beach and live there forever.” But while they don’t mean anything by it, actual homelessness is a major problem in Hawaii, whose statistics actually show that Hawaii has the highest homeless rate per capita. So joking about being homeless is really no laughing matter.
