Finally, He Was In Custody
At the time of Biela’s arrest, the Washoe County District Attorney, Dick Gammick, held a press conference. He reported that Biela would be tried in court by one of their lead criminal deputies, Elliot Sattler. And aside from that, he would make sure that Biela was convicted under the maximum penalty in this case, which would hopefully be the death penalty.
On Trial
Biela went on trial on May 27, 2010 and was tried for kidnapping, rape and murder. The jury deliberated for approximately 9 hours after which they found Biela guilty on all accounts. The families of the different victims were all vindicated with the decision of the jury, especially after he was sentenced to death for his crimes.
