Honoring Brianna’s Memory

Brianna was lovingly called ‘Breezy’ by her mother, Bridgette. She said that this was because she was, in her mom’s words, ‘a breath of fresh air on a cool summer day.’ Despite the loss of her life, Brianna’s family says they’ll remember her for her ‘million dollar smile, sparkling blue eyes and her tremendous outgoing nature and compassion.’ And on February 23, 2008, Brianna’s family and community honored her as they held a vigil in her memory. It said to have been attended by hundreds of people in Reno.
In The Aftermath
After Brianna’s death, it was said that in the area of the University of Nevada, the sale of handguns, pepper spray and stun guns dramatically went up. Apparently the rape and death of Brianna highly affected many residents of the Reno area. Brianna’s mom also put up the ‘Bring Bri Justice Foundation’ with the hope of bringing safety awareness to their community. Brianna may be gone, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
