Jimenez rushed back to his workplace and called the police to report what he saw. Police quickly made it to the scene and began gathering evidence found where the body lay. Although Jimenez had heard about the case of Brianna, he didn’t think that it was her, as she no longer looked like the photos he had seen of Denison. But on that fateful day of February 15, 2008, it was confirmed that it was, in fact, Brianna’s body that had been tossed in that ditch. She had been raped, murdered, and discarded like trash.

Incriminating Underwear

According to authorities, a pair of thong panties was collected near Brianna’s body. They found DNA of a man, as well as that belonging to an unknown woman. The female DNA did not belong to Brianna though, but was still considered pivotal in the case. Their thinking? It could have possibly been left by the killer to taunt the police. The authorities requested anyone who might know who it belonged to, to say something in the hopes that it would bring them closer to finding the suspect. But no one came forward with any new evidence.
