Similar stories were published in the St. Louis Dispatch and the San Francisco Examiner in 1954 about retired naval aviation major Donald Keyhoe’s claim that the US Air Force detected two satellites orbiting the earth, at a time when no country had launched any spacecraft into space yet. The first satellite wasn’t launched until 1957 when Russia successfully sent Sputnik orbiting around the Earth. The story created a sensation, prompting UFOlogists to theorize that the satellites were 13,000 years old and were extraterrestrial in origin.

Elisa Lam’s death

Elisa Lam was a Canadian tourist visiting Los Angeles. She stayed at the infamous Cecil Hotel where she was reported to have been missing for days before the discovery of her body inside one of the water tanks on the hotel’s rooftop. Before she was reported missing, she was captured by the hotel’s elevator surveillance camera. She seemed scared and she looked like she was hiding from someone. Her mysterious death remains unsolved to this day.
