Joy Evenson, Jill’s sister, heard the news on the night of March 28, 2001. She traveled to Woodland Park with other family members to see Jill one last time – and to demand some answers. Each time she asked to speak with Mike in private, he would avoid her stating that he was not able to at that time. Even Jill’s mother was avoided by Mike. They didn’t get any answers from Mike.

Mike moved on

About a year after Jill’s death, Mike remarried, and in 2006, he moved his family into a new home on a forested land just outside Woodland Park. The new home was decorated with Mike’s trophies, just like his former home with Jill. But this marriage was also troubled and was quickly falling apart due to Mike’s increasingly erratic behavior caused by his drug abuse. Finally, Mike’s third marriage ended in March 2007.
