According to the normal procedures when a ship is found on a beach, the Namibian government will keep all the treasures found in the Bom Jesus. But since she was a ship of the state of Portugal, it rightfully belongs to Portugal. However, the Portuguese government very generously waived that right and gave to Namibia all of the ship’s precious contents.
