Speculations were rife if indeed the shipwreck was that of the Bom Jesus from 500 years ago. Even the locals were intrigued by talks of the sunken ship right at their very territory, which was alleged to have with her an immense treasure. And now it was time to dig up the remains of the ship to find out once and for all if it did wander off to this coast.
