The first month Maria disappeared, Krause knew something was wrong. She called the police and reported her daughter missing on March 24, 2003. She was disappointed by what happened next. She thought that the investigation would at least go a little faster. She started questioning why and she assumed that her Aborigine roots might have played a big part. To her, it was Maria’s race, but to the police, it was something else.
