An arranged marriage with his presumed lesbian cousin resulted in FDR having kept a mistress for over 30 years. The mistress was Lucy Mercer, and she lived in the White House with the Roosevelt’s as she was Franklin’s secretary. When she suffered a stroke, Franklin altered his will to include her.
