Despite even getting a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, the pull of living a life of crime was too strong for him to resist. It took him 8 different times before he actually committed his first robbery, and at that time, his getaway vehicle was actually a stolen car. And so began a life of successful robberies which he couldn’t seem to stop.

They found Carl Gugasian in his apartment, which was directly across from the area where the two boys found the PVC pipe with his stuff. And what the authorities were going to find out about him was going to be quite surprising. Not only was he an Army veteran with a background in engineering, he also said that he was a business consultant who drove junkers, and enjoyed gambling. But he had an unbelievable amount of $500,000 in his bank account, which he couldn’t have made from all his ‘jobs.’
