Figuring Out She Had RAD
Her bizarre behavior finally had an explanation. Apparently, Beth had what doctor’s called Reactive Attachment Disorder, otherwise known as RAD. Although uncommon, it’s a highly crucial disease that usually occurs after a child goes through horrible abuse, and they can no longer have ‘healthy attachments to parents or caregivers.’
Common For Adopted Children
RAD was a common condition in children who are adopted, usually because of highly traumatic experiences they went through in their formative years. Many symptoms include violence against pets or animals, bursts of anger, self-inflicted harm, and detrimental or hostile behavior.
