Making Sure It Wasn’t Anything Illegal

When the police got to the plant, their first move was to make sure that the money they were dealing with wasn’t illegal cash. It seemed quite odd that so many bills would be stashed at the back of a TV set. And usually, when it is, it’s due to wanting to hide it for illegal purposes. They probably checked the serial numbers first to see if they were connected to anything illegal. And since they found other documents inside, they were able to clear it and search for the actual owner.

Making Sure It Got Back To Its Rightful Owner

Along with the cash inside the cashbox, there were also documents that showed the name of a gentleman who lived in Bolsover, Ontario. The GEEP plant is located in Barrie, and these two towns are approximately 47 miles away from each other. The Barrie Police headed by Constable Nicole Rodgers said, “We had to do a little bit of an investigation to make sure the cash was getting into the right hands.”
