Completely Hidden Away
One of the scientists’ first analyses that they made of the cave was that the air inside was completely unlike that of the outside world. First, they would realize that the oxygen inside the cave was “only a third to half of the concentration found in open air.” Due to the cave being completely hidden away from the top surface of the earth, it was super high in hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, making it impossible for normal creatures to remain alive in its confines.
