Cristian Lascu was the very first person to ever delve into this mysterious and unbelievably ancient and ominous cave. Donning a heavy-duty suit to supply oxygen and protection in the never before explored cave, he went down a very narrow tunnel into the darkness. The shaft heading down was “an ochre clay coated limestone tunnel,” which led to a “central cavern opening into a lake.” And in the darkness, it was a tepid 25 degrees Celsius.
