The Killer Knew What He Was Doing

One of the lead detectives in the case, Supt. Hanlon shared, “From day one of our investigation it was absolutely clear that whoever had dismembered the victim had known what they were doing.” He continued, “During our investigation we looked at the possibility that Marshall had gained such experience working as a butcher or a gamekeeper but that line of inquiry drew a blank. It was always in our mind that he may have done this sort of thing before.”

Going To Trial

Marshall would go on trial on January 12, 2010. He would even give a ‘not guilty’ plea, claiming that it had been Sarah Bush that had killed Howe, and he just helped her dismember and get rid of the body parts. But Bush was quick to deny every single thing that Marshall said. And there would be enough proof brought against him for Marshall to choose to change his plea.
