The First Few Donations
When the first few donations started coming in, Kate shared, “We wanted to make sure he was safe, and go from there. I remember when we got our first donation, we were like, ‘holy crap’.” So when the amount reached $769, they told Johnny and he was beyond thrilled. He said, “God, that’s amazing. Damn, y’all did all that. That is awesome.” He even continued, “People talk about Philly… I have honestly met more good people than bad. I really have. Like y’all.” But he couldn’t have known what else was in store for him and his imminent future.
