Story #7: The “Runaway” Puppy
“When I was maybe 10 or 11, I overheard my stepmom talking to my friend’s mom about my puppy that had recently disappeared. I learned the puppy had not run away, but that my stepmom had driven it to the middle of nowhere and ‘set it free’ because she didn’t want to have a puppy in the house. My stepmom is the worst human being I have ever met. It’s worth mentioning that she has gotten rid of my possessions before without asking, like giving my clothes or toys to Goodwill while I was at school.”
