15. Ivan Mishukov, Russia, 1998
To avoid abuse from his family, Ivan (born 1992) ran away at age four and began living with a pack of dogs. He begged in the streets ad shared the scraps of food he obtained with his canine friends. Eventually, they learned to trust him and he became the pack leader.
Two years later, he was caught and placed in a children’s home. He has recovered relatively well and now lives a normal life.
