Ilha da Queimada Grande

Otherwise known to those in Brazil as Ilha da Queimada Grande, the island is located around 25 miles off the coast and incredibly, has at least 1 venomous snake for every square foot. It’s home to the golden lance-head snake whose bite is so fatal, its victim will be dead in an hour. The island has been human-free since 1920 after the local lighthouse keeper and his family were allegedly killed by snakes that entered his home, and since then, no one else has been allowed back on the island.
