Terracotta Soldiers

The main purpose of the over 8,000 terracotta soldiers was to protect their emperor in death, as they did in life. The Qin Shi Huang mausoleum was only found in 1974 despite rumors of their existence, but it was hundreds of decades before they were actually found. And in order to remain pristine, you can only see them from afar.
