Ferreira told detectives back in 1983 that he was watching when the carpenter found Jopek’s remains. He said he saw the teen who hosted the party, who was standing in the backyard, vomit. What’s worse is that a witness told police that after news of the grisly discovery died down, they saw Ferreira kneeling near the site, crying as he apologized to Jopek. Despite these accounts, Ferreira was not charged with the death of Carrie Ann Jopek until 2015.
