Someone Banging On The Door

The woman was in major disarray, and she told the children that they needed to hide right away. She had gotten away from a man who had kidnapped her, and was threatening to kill her too. James recalled his father telling him to hide in the bathroom of their home in case of an emergency, so after herding everyone there, he bravely went around to lock every window and door in their home. Then, he went to retrieve his hunting knife, which he just got for Christmas, and went to the bathroom to hide with everyone else. And just as the woman said, a few moments later, a man would come screaming to let him in. When he couldn’t force himself into the house, he ended up doing something worse, setting the house on fire.

Coming To Her Rescue

Thankfully, while they were in the bathroom, James was able to call his father and tell him what was going on. The woman in hiding was able to contact 911, and they waited inside the house for help to arrive, not knowing that the woman’s attacker had set the house on fire. Thankfully, James’s dad and the police arrived and put the fire out before it did any major damage to the house, or the occupants inside of it. The woman owed her life to the courage and bravery of one 14-year old boy who was hailed a hero by an entire nation.
