Joshua Tree National Park
They were headed to Joshua Tree National Park, a huge 2000 mile expanse of land that is highly rocky, but very beautiful. Many people head over there to hike through the trails and enjoy the desert-like terrain and landscapes. And while the park is highly amenable to both experienced and newbie hikers alike, there are still many areas in the park that are rugged and rocky, requiring more qualified climbers to get through them.
