Alerting Authorities
The owner of the Airbnb decided to alert the authorities when they failed to make it back. And one of the first things that the police did was ping Joseph’s cellphone. The ping came back with a register of 4 p.m. on July 27, showing that their location was still inside the park. They knew they needed to begin the search, and fast.
