It Was Now Stage 4

To make matters even worse, Laurin’s cancer was spreading even more. It had now moved into her lungs, making it stage 4 and metastic. Laurin was told that she didn’t have much time before the cancer completely ravished her body. They would also tell them that if they truly wanted to get married, they should move up their wedding date.

Not Giving In

Given the atrocious situation that the couple was in, doctors insisted that Mike and Laurin move up their wedding date. But for the young couple, they refused to heed the doctor’s advice. Laurin iterated, “Mike and I felt like if we changed our wedding date, it would be a rush; we wouldn’t have it on our terms.” She continued, “For Mike, it felt like we would be giving in to cancer.”
