Alone in her cabin
On the evening of November 12, Terry Jo went to her cabin alone to sleep. Usually her sister René joined her, but not this time. She stayed with her brother and parents in the ship’s bridge. Later in the evening, Terry Jo was woken by her brother’s screams. She could hear her brother yelling, “Help, daddy! Help!” from outside.
Terror at sea
Fear petrified her. But after about five minutes, she gathered her courage and peered through the door. She saw her mother and brother lying on the floor drenched in their own blood. She realized at that very moment that they were both dead.
