In July 2003, an FBI technician named Jill Kincade got a hit when she ran the fingerprint through the system once again. It took her just five hours to search for the match. The fingerprint collected matched with a convicted felon named James Ray Davies. He had just gotten out of prison when the murder happened. On November 24, 2003, he confessed to the crime and was sent to prison to live out the rest of his life behind bars.

Sometimes, truth is always stranger than fiction. In 1971, friends Jackson and Miller disappeared just as they were on their way to a party. Then, an informant said that a man named David Lykken confessed to killing the innocent teenagers. The said snitch presented a recorded tape as proof and Lykken was then sent to jail with nothing but a tape of a man’s voice who didn’t even sound like him at all.
