A Huge Search Party

There was a huge search party that ensued, including authorities, family and friends that started to look for Holly’s whereabouts. What they found was going to give them some hope, but it wasn’t going to actually lead them to where Holly was. All they found was her lunch box, which was around 8 miles away from where she went missing. They also found a shoe print from a “Crocs” shoe brand, found nearer to her home.

One of the special agents assigned to the case, John Mehr, had shared that since her brother claimed she had ‘willingly’ walked into the woods with her captor, she must have been under distress. He says, “We feel she was in fear of her life, so she was complying with his commands.” Although her brother, Clint, and her boyfriend, Drew, had been questioned by authorities for a very long time, neither were considered suspects in the case. By finding the lunch box, they felt that they had some evidence that would lead them to Holly’s location. How very wrong they were.
