Taking A New Job

Chris, who had just finished his medical residency during the summer before their move to Texas, had just taken on a job at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Waxahachie in Dallas. Things looked perfect to those looking in from the outside. They were a lovely couple in their mid-thirties, blessed with a son, Luke who was 9, and a daughter, Aubrey who was 5. But wistfully, this couldn’t have been further from the truth.

Chris Suffered From Depression

Apparently, Chris suffered from horrible depression. In fact, his depression was so bad that he often had very bad thoughts – thoughts of death and suicide. He was worried about seeking out help from another professional, thinking that his job would be at stake if anyone knew that he had mental problems.
