It would seem that while Russell never knew what had become of his ex-wife and young daughters, Elaine Yates turned Leina Waldberg was living a life she preferred. She had even been dating a man named George Sargent, whom had known of her past abusive relationship with Russell. He also knew that she had taken her kids and ran. When questioned, Sargent said that he knew a bit about her past, “Except I didn’t know the circumstances. There was a part of her past that I never got a clear picture of.”
