What Happens Now?
Supposedly, Elaine Yates could have gotten 20 years imprisonment for her two counts of child snatching in 1985. But according to Rhode Island Prosecutors, they said that new information that had emerged regarding the circumstances of her case might get her off the hook. Apparently during the year 1985, the law against “Child Abduction” was not yet passed, therefore she cannot be charged for it now. Even Russell said he doesn’t want Elaine to be prosecuted. In fact he says, “That ain’t going to help her, me or anybody else at this point.”
