Kidnapped and murdered – Amber Hagerman


Another gruesome case of unsolved murders involving a child was Amber Hagerman’s case, who, in 1996 was found dead after being kidnapped while riding her bike in Arlington, Texas. Four days into her disappearance, her body was found by a man walking his dog. Her throat was slit, and evidences show that she was alive for two days before she was murdered. The murderer is still at large. The incident led to the creation of America’s Missing: Broadcasting Emergency, or AMBER Alert, named after Amber, a national bulletin for missing children.

Stabbed 17 times – Suzanne Jovin


In 1998 in Yale University, a gruesome murder took place. Suzanne Jovin was chatting with her friend. As she continued on her way, she was grabbed and stabbed 17 times in the head and neck and her throat was slit. Witnesses saw a brown van parked near the scene of the crime, but no lead was ever produced. One of Jovin’s professors was implicated but was later cleared. His supposed involvement ruined his career. The killer remains at large.
