A year after

The case lingered for a couple of months more after searching Rhoades’ apartment. Almost a year later, Lee heard Special Agent Mark Young talk about a murder case he was handling that took place in Illinois. According to Young, a farmer stumbled across the victim’s body in a barn loft.

A horrifying discovery

It was Regina Walter’s body, identified through dental records. In some of the photos recovered in Rhoades’ apartment- the girl which Lee was reluctant to identify- was posing inside that same barn. Tests revealed that the barn in the photos in Rhoades’ apartment matched the barn in the Illinois crime scene.
