41. Who gives a damn?
In the 1939 smash hit Gone with Wind, the memorable line, which was arguably the first to mention a swear word in movie history, Rhett Butler, played by Clark Gable, says, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Most people mistakenly heard, “Frankly, Scarlett, I don’t give a damn,” as a response Rhett gives to Scarlett when she pleads, “Where shall I go? What shall I do?” Since the movie’s release decades ago, it’s grown so popular that people use it to express how fed up they are with someone.
