Although there were days spent having fun and attempting to forget about sickness and disease for a while, it didn’t last too long. Months went on and Derek’s condition was not getting any better. During Cyndie and Derek’s sweeter moments, Derek would say sorry to his mom for the times when he would act out. They even made a promise to each other ‘to love each other always and be each other’s guardian angel.’
