Prince Charles proposed at the Buckingham Palace on February 3, 1981. The wedding of the century took place on July 19, 1981. Diana was 12 years younger than Prince Charles. An estimate puts the television viewers who watched the wedding at around 750 million. Everybody believed this to be the fairytale wedding but nobody suspected it would end the way it did.
