Imprisoned Already For 13 Years

So far, Cyntoia has spent over 13 years of her young life in a Tennessee Woman’s correctional facility. Behind bars, she has grown up, attempted to understand her young life and how she got to where she is now, yet make something better of herself and her life. Not only has she been able to get her Associate’s Degree, she is also now working towards getting a Bachelor of Art’s Degree as well.

Turning Things Around

According to Cyntoia’s lawyers, who are still fighting to overturn her sentence, they share that she has been a model prisoner, and has tried to change the tides of her life since she’s been in jail. J Houston Gordon, one of her attorneys, says, “Cyntoia Brown is a remarkable, personable, intelligent, caring, amazing young woman who has taken the worst of her circumstances and done the best you can imagine.”
