Searching For Kelsey
Four days after Kelsey went missing, her cell phone records from Verizon were finally released by the telecom company. Federal Law allows companies to release personal information if it’s directly connected to a missing person’s case, or a possible kidnapping, even without a warrant. Despite that, Verizon didn’t give out any information until 4 days later. Many people wonder if Kelsey could have been saved if they had just given out the information earlier.
Finally Finding Her Body
When her telephone records were released, the cell phone ping showed that it was around 1.1 miles north of one of their particular cell towers. In as little as 45 minutes from the time they got their information, police found Kelsey’s body at 1:30 p.m. She was hidden in a wooded area off Longview Lake in Grandview, Missouri. This was approximately 20 miles away from the Target store parking lot where she was abducted.
