He Got Seven Years
In the end, the judge would sentence Edward Fitchett to serve a total of seven years in jail, and aside from the funeral expenses, he had to pay another $33,000, ‘in restitution for the funds he obtained’ from his father’s Social Security and PERS checks.
His Brother Speaks Out
Obviously upset, Ed’s brother, John, attended his court hearing and spoke to him saying, “He [Conley] always prayed for us, you and me. Always. And you put him in a freezer. He didn’t deserve that, Ed.” And until this very day, as Ed completes his 7-year sentence, those words are probably what he continuously thinks about, every single day.
