Traveling The World

David was no stranger to traveling the world and going on missions for his church, in fact his parents had even shared, “Like most of his siblings, David had served a mission for his church – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in Korea, so he had previous experience exploring distant lands.” He had even learned Korean while he was there.

Planning The Trip With His Roommate

It was David’s dream to become an international lawyer, and given that he had spent 2 years in Korea on his mission trip while learning the language, his desire to go to China wasn’t a surprise to anyone. Alongside his roommate from Brigham Young University, George Bailey, they made their plans for the summer of 2004, although they weren’t going to remain together while they were there.
